Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets to reach their fourth IPL final and will meet the winner of Qualifier 2 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday, May 26.
This year, Knight Riders have defeated all clubs and lost only three league games.
They also won Qualifier 1 against a threatening batting line-up.
The playoffs provide the top two league teams two chances to reach the final. So Qualifier 1 was between the top-ranked KKR and second-ranked SRH.
Kolkata might face Hyderabad or Rajasthan Royals.
The Royals defeated RCB by six wickets in the Eliminator at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where Qualifier 1 was contested.
Rajasthan finished third after losing five straight, while Royal Challengers defeated Chennai Super Kings from fourth to advance to the playoffs.
Hyderabad will play Royals in Qualifier 2 after losing Qualifier 1. Only Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium will host Qualifier 2. On Friday, May 24, it will be played.
