SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) will play in IPL Qualifier 2 for a spot in the final.
SRH lost to finalist Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Qualifier 1, while RR beat a surprising Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Eliminator this week.
After three IPL 2024 matches were canceled owing to rain, the BCCI made all the required preparations for Friday's match in Chennai.
The organizers established a reserve day for all playoff matches, including Qualifier 2 between SRH and RR, unlike previous season when only the final had one.
Since weather ruined the final last year, it was played on reserve day.
The match will commence on reserve day even if it started on schedule
Can rain ruin reserve day too?
If Qualifier 2 is washed out on reserve day due to rain, the winner will be determined by league positions.
SRH will qualify for the final if they finished second and RR third.
Both teams had 17 points from 14 games, but SRH had a +0.414 NRR while RR had +0.273.
