The Union Home Minister was addressing a rally in Karnal for Nayab Singh Saini, who is fighting the May 25 assembly bypoll, and former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, who is running for the Lok Sabha seat.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah slammed the Congress on Monday, claiming that the party did not abolish Article 370.

which granted Jammu and Kashmir special status, for the sake of appeasement politics.

Shah reaffirmed at an election rally in Karnal that Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) belongs to India and that "we will take it back".

He criticized the Congress on Kashmir, saying, "They did not revoke Article 370 for appeasement reasons."

Despite an increase in terrorism in the area, the Congress did not rescind the article, he claimed.

"You all elected Narendra Modi ji as Prime Minister for the second time, and on August 5, 2019, he repealed Article 370."

"Now, our Tricolor proudly flutters in Kashmir," he stated.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, who is running for the Karnal assembly byelection, and former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, who is running for the Karnal Lok Sabha seat, were also there.
