Tamil celebrity Vijay to stop filmmaking and devote his entire time to politics.

Vijay, a Tamil superstar who was most recently seen in the film “Leo” and is currently awaiting the release of his upcoming film “The Goat Life,” has made the decision to leave the film industry in order to pursue a career in politics.

On Friday, he brought to light his political party, which is called Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam. It was stated by the actor that he will leave the film industry after completing two films, namely “GOAT” and an untitled film, in order to pursue a career as a full-fledged politician in the state of Tamil Nadu. During the elections in 2026, members of his party will run for candidacy. During a recent meeting, the actor met with kids in the tenth and twelfth grades and also extended assistance to those who were impacted by the recent floods in Chennai.

The actor made this assertion in a lengthy formal statement, stating that in order to carry out social work in a full-fledged manner, there is a requirement for political authority.

On the official account of the actor on X, the following message was posted: “You all are fully aware of the political scenario in Tamil Nadu. On the one hand, we have a dysfunctional administration and a corrupt political culture, and on the other hand, we have politics that are created with the intention of dividing people along the lines of caste, creed, and religion. Both of these slow down our progress. It is an undeniable fact that people, particularly in Tamil Nadu, are yearning for a change in the political landscape and are looking for a party that is selfless, honest, secular, and talented in order to bring about this change.

As a result of Vijay’s announcement that he will be running for office in the elections for the state legislative assembly in 2026, he will be able to facilitate the “desired political transformation sought by the people of Tamil Nadu.”

Additionally, the following was included in the statement: “Our party’s policies, manifestos, strategies, and programs will be unveiled upon the approval of the election ordinance, and our political journey for the people of Tamil Nadu will begin.” Our party will proceed with the amount of diligence that is required, making certain that all activities are in accordance with the party’s mission and aims, and giving the interests of the people of Tamil Nadu the highest priority. In light of this, I will finish the project that I have accepted at this time, taking care to ensure that it does not interfere with my political duties. At the same time, I will set out on this trip with the intention of providing complete and undivided service to the people of Tamil Nadu. “I believe that is my debt of gratitude to the people of Tamil Nadu,” he stated in the message, and he closed by saying, “I am grateful to your people.”

It was on February 2 when Tamil superstar Vijay made the announcement that he will be entering politics in advance of the Lok Sabha elections in 2024. Actor Tamilaga Vetri Kazham announced that his party would not run for the Lok Sabha elections in 2024, but he will run for the Assembly elections in 2026. He also stated that his party would not run for the Lok Sabha elections.

According to a statement released by Vijay, “We are not going to support any party, nor are we going to run for office in the elections that will take place in 2024.” In preparation for the General and Executive Council Meeting, we have arrived at this conclusion.

Our target year is 2026. following we have received authorization from the Election Commission of India (ECI) and following the Lok Sabha elections in 2024, we will make decisions regarding the emblem, flag, beliefs, and policies, as well as meet and greet with individuals, and then we will begin our political journey in the correct manner. We are not running for office in the elections that will take place in 2024, and we will not be supporting any of the parties that are running for office,” the statement went on to say.

In the statement, he went on to say, “At the moment, our party has submitted an application for registration, taking into consideration the amount of time that is necessary for the job… Personally, I do not consider politics to be a hobby; rather, it is my most profound love, and I intend to commit myself entirely to it.

Thalapathy Vijay, who is well-known for his roles in the films “Theri,” “Master,” “Bigil,” “Beast,” “Puli,” “Thuppakki,” “Mersal,” and “Kaththi,” was most recently seen in the action picture “Leo,” which also starred Sanjay Dutt.

He continued by saying, “On my behalf, I have already agreed to complete another film-related duty without disturbing the party work and fully engage in politics for the service of the people.” He was referring to the films that he had produced.
