“Bharateeyudu 2,” the much-anticipated sequel to the 1996 film “Bharateeyudu,” starring Kamal Haasan and directed by Shankar, has hit theaters. Let’s see whether this sequel measures up to the first. Story: Chitra Aravind (Siddharth) and his buddies run the YouTube channel “Barking Dogs.” After a girl commits suicide due to the pressure placed on her by a corrupt official who wanted a bribe for a teaching position, Aravind and his team begin the #ComeBackIndian campaign. Their purpose is to reintroduce Senapathy (Kamal Haasan) and eradicate corruption in society.

Senapathy is currently staying in Taipei, having escaped India in 1996. Senapathy, also known as Indian, encourages people to expose corruption within their own families before confronting strong leaders. Aravind and his team respond to Senpathy’s summons and begin their quest, which leads to various obstacles. Will Senapathy succeed in his newest mission, or will he be forced to return after a period of absence? Artists’ Performances: Kamal Haasan played two unique characters in the original film: Senapathy, a seasoned freedom fighter, and his son. In this sequel, Kamal takes on the character of Senapathy, now a centenarian.

Though Kamal Haasan wears a range of outfits, his performances are generally average, missing the extraordinary attributes for which he is known. Siddharth is given a larger role and excels in a sequence with his parents in the second half. Bobby Simha plays a traditional CBI role in a predictable manner. SJ Suryah and Brahmanandam feature briefly in the film. Samuthirakani’s performance is satisfactory.

Rakul Preet Singh and Priya Bhavani Shankar are given roles that are more akin to cameo appearances, as they have less significance in the tale. Technical excellence: Shankar’s film benefits immensely from two main elements: the songs and the stunning technical qualities. This film is a tremendous failure in these two areas, especially Anirudh Ravichander’s songs, which are extremely uninteresting.

The film begins with a single, entire song performed by Demi-Leigh Tebow. Although the song was lavishly illustrated, it lacks any distinctive qualities. Ravi Varman’s cinematography is traditional. However, the production company, Lyca Productions, has made a significant financial investment in the intricate production design. Sreekara Prasad’s editing and conversation writing are lacking in value.

The film, which was released in Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu, delighted audiences. Every component of the film was creative and engaging. The Indian cinema industry has changed dramatically over the last three decades. Such costumes worn by actors no longer awe audiences, since visual effects have evolved greatly across all languages and themes of vigilante justice have become commonplace. Shankar, the pioneer who introduced these aspects into commercial Indian cinema, looks to be stuck in the past. His storyline and script for “Bharateeyudu 2” look absolutely out of date.

Shankar’s outstanding qualities are his ability to extract appealing music and tell stories that are both entertaining and emotionally profound. However, he does not exhibit any of these characteristics in “Bharateeyudu 2.” The three-hour sequel is full of tedious moments. While the first few minutes are interesting as they set up the primary story, the following passages until the climax are quite dull.

Aside from Senapathy’s murder of three prominent businessmen, there is no plot in this two-hour film. Senapathy’s attempt to elude the police by using his “Marmam” technique and numerous disguises looks to be a repeat of a similar scenario seen in the 1996 film. Even the so-called action scenes, such as Kamal Haasan driving a metro train backwards and escaping on a one-wheeled motorbike, are uninteresting to watch.

Shankar’s previous films had superb and exhilarating action sequences. Many current Tamil films feature heroes who use social media platforms and YouTube channels to spark a movement. Shankar has used the same strategy. As a result, there was nothing unique about this storytelling method. Despite the fact that corruption in India has not decreased since the 1990s, the present generation of youngsters and viewers do not identify with the traditional sequences of bribery in government offices.

It has become the accepted standard. Shankar seemed to be unsure of how to make Senapathy’s character more accessible to modern audiences. The film finishes with a trailer for “Bharateeyudu 3,” in which Kamal Haasan fully adopts a warlike mentality while revealing the origin of his romantic relationship with Kajal’s character. Shankar appears to have relocated the film’s important sequences to the third act, resulting in a total lack of enthusiasm in this episode.

Overall, whether you are from the 1990s and appreciated Shankar’s first half of “Bharateeyudu” or a modern-day spectator, your odds of enjoying “Bharateeyudu 2” are limited. The picture lacks both a compelling storyline and an interesting narrative. Kamal Haasan’s acting and get-ups are unimpressive, and Shankar’s presentation of this classic narrative is pretty dull.
