The animation series “B&B: Bujji & Bhairava” serves as a joyful precursor to the film “Kalki 2898 AD,” which was directed by Nag Ashwin and starred Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan of the Bollywood film industry.
It is the year 2896 AD, and the city of Kasi, which is dystopian but futuristic, serves as the setting for this story. During their travels, each of them experience obstacles, and as a result, an improbable partnership develops, which paves the way for exciting adventures. Although we typically come across spin-off animation series that aim to capitalize on a popular film, such as the Indian animation series that followed the Baahubali movie, team Kalki has presented a series that serves as a prelude to the feature. The world of Kalki is introduced in two episodes, each of which is slightly more than fourteen minutes. During one of the scenes, a character notices a package of pineapples and remarks that at long last, there is food that is actually edible.
Events take place in the year 2896, which is two years before to the film. Prabhas provides the voiceover for the character of Bhairava, who is portrayed as a local hero who is struggling to make ends meet and is fervently believing that he will one day become famous. After completing her one-hundredth mission, BU-JZI, also known as Bujji (narrated by Keerthy Suresh), has the aspiration of obtaining a promotion and entering ‘The Complex,’ a location of privilege. Brahmanandam, a seasoned actor, has a part in the series that is animated, and his interactions with Bhairava are a delight to behold. This character is the highlight of the series. The episodes are also filled with references to popular culture, ranging from the most recent film, Jathi Ratnalu, to Chiranjeevi’s classic dialogues, references to old tunes, and even Brahmanandam’s own humorous repartees from prior blockbuster films.
Despite the fact that it is humorous, the animated series that was created by Nag Ashwin in collaboration with Green Gold Animation is excellent in its ability to transport viewers into the dystopian city, its enormous scrapyard, and the possibilities of constructing robotic creations from the ground up. A few days ago, the production house Vyjayanthi Films presented the custom-made automobile Bujji to the audience of over 20,000 people who had assembled at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad when the event took place.
