On May 23, repolling will take place at booth numbers 26 and 28 in the Kantamal Assembly segment of the Kandhamal Lok Sabha seat from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Repolling has been ordered at two Odisha booths where voting was disrupted on May 20, according to a statement released by the Chief Electoral Officer.

According to EC data, there are 869 and 904 candidates in the upcoming sixth and seventh phases, which are scheduled for May 25 and June 1. On May 25 and June 1, fifty-seven seats in seven and eight states and union territories will vote, respectively.

According to the State BJP secretary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will kick off his election campaign in Punjab at a rally in Patiala on May 23. Punjab BJP general secretary Rakesh Rathour said that the Prime Minister will address three public rallies in the state on May 23 and 24. Mr. Modi will hold his first rally in Patiala on May 23, followed by rallies in Gurdaspur and Jalandhar the day after, according to Mr. Rathour.

According to Election Commission (EC) records, 1,625 candidates ran in 102 constituencies across 21 states and union territories in the first phase, which took place on April 19.

The second phase on April 26 had 1,198 candidates in 89 constituencies across 13 states and UTs, the third phase on May 7 had 1,352 candidates in 94 constituencies across 12 states and UTs, and the fifth phase on May 20 had 695 candidates in 49 districts across eight states and UTs.

Uttarakhand BJP approaches police against ‘edited’ video of Dhami’s speech in Delhi; FIR lodged

The Uttarakhand BJP has filed a police case against the Aam Aadmi Party, accusing it of destroying the image of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and the party by sharing an edited video of him on social media.

On Wednesday, a FIR was registered at the Dalanwala Police Station in Dehradun in response to a complaint from Pradesh BJP IT cell co-convenor Praveen Lekhwar, according to State BJP media in-charge Manveer Chauhan.

According to Lekhwar’s allegation, AAP’s social media cell tampered with and shared a video of Mr. Dhami on Instagram as part of a scheme to destroy his and the BJP’s image. The allegedly manipulated video depicts a statement made by Mr. Dhami during an electoral campaign in Delhi.

Congress slams BJP for ‘not fulfilling promises’ made to farmer organisations

The Congress chastised the BJP for failing to keep commitments made to farmers’ associations, claiming that an INDIA bloc government would implement all of its guarantees to tillers, including the legal guarantee of MSP.
